Ngay sau khi Bộ Giáo dục và Đào tạo công bố điểm thi tốt nghiệp THPT năm 2020, Sở Giáo dục và Đào tạo Nghệ An cũng đã công bố những thí sinh có điểm cao nhất của Nghệ An theo các khối thi.
Theo đó, thí sinh có điểm cao nhất khối A là em Đậu Đăng Thiện – thí sinh tự do ở huyện Thanh Chương với tổng điểm là 29,35 điểm. 2 thí sinh có điểm cao tiếp theo là thí sinh Phan Văn Đạt (Trường THPT Con Cuông) và Trần Thị Hòa (Trường THPT Quỳnh Lưu 1) với 29,1 điểm.

Ở khối A1, thí sinh có điểm cao nhất là Bạch Thùy Dương và Nguyễn Hoàng Đăng (học sinh lớp 12 A2, Trường THPT chuyên Phan Bội Châu) với 28,6 điểm.
Ở khối C, thí sinh có điểm cao nhất là em Trần Thị Hồng Đức (Trường THPT Nguyễn Xuân Ôn) với 29 điểm.

Trong đó, điểm 10 nhiều nhất là môn GDCD (99), Toán (12), Vật lý (1), Hóa học (22), Sinh học (4), Ngoại ngữ (10), Địa lý (12).
Riêng môn Ngữ văn, điểm cao nhất là 9,5 điểm và có 27 em đạt số điểm này.
